Color Exploration

The word photography originated from Greek words meaning ‘writing or drawing with light.’ Although the technology of photography has been fairly advanced, the definition of photography has not been faded. The medium captures image has been changing over decades from daguerreotype to digital format. Although the meaning of photography does not change, people become less aware of the importance of lighting due to advanced technology of photoshop. People rely on photoshop rather metering right exposure. This assignment was an awakening call for me from ‘photoshopholic.’ I was an AFP photographer for 3 years and I usually set my camera as ‘Auto White Balance’ since I thought that it was reliable enough. I photoshoped most of pictures when I saw photos which were different from what I expected. However, this assignment ‘shooting different white balance for same subject’ made me distrust about ‘auto white balance’ after I saw different pictures with different white balance on same situation. The difference was huge.
